With Hello! Project finally entering the streaming platforms, I decided to make this blog post to list the songs that are geoblocked (available in Japan only) and the possible reason for it.

I might let some songs slip so this list is not complete.

Usually covers by artists outside UP-FRONT are geoblocked to Japan only due to them not owning the rights to distribute outside, and songs that are tie-in of a drama/anime too for the same reason.

Also, Engeki Joshibu and compilation albums such as Petit Best and albums released for special concerts outside of Japan were not included as well (some Petit Best albums are available on Apple Music though).

A feature of the Hello! Project 2026 Winter concert was a spin on the usual shuffle unit corner, titled special groups (スペシャルグループ). The 64 members were divided into nine special groups.

There was a special group for each active Hello! Project act, including Hello Pro Kenshuusei. The ninth special group performed a past Morning Musume song in White Tales and a S/mileage (past ANGERME) song in Silver Trails.

Japanese name: only ONE
Members: Nonaka Miki, Tamenaga Shion, Irie Risa, Endo Akari, Doi Fuka, Takase Kurumi, Hiromoto Ruli, Shimakawa Hana

The name takes inspiration from the number one, and they also wanted to showcase their individuality.

A few days ago, I wondered what the most popular songs were for the member's birthday events. With today being the final birthday event of the year, I plugged them all into a spreadsheet to find out!

A few notes:

• I did count the joint birthday events, but not any songs previously featured in the individual members' events.
• I only counted songs from Hello! Project or Hello! Project OGs, so this doesn't include external cover songs.
• There are three 2023 versions of Morning Musume songs that I just counted with the originals. This doesn't change much overall, but affects Morning Musume '25's and ANGERME's results slightly. I've noted these when they come up.

Sayonara Nakano Sunplaza Ongakusai (さよなら中野サンプラザ音楽祭) is a special festival held in celebration of 's 50 years of history, and also of its closure on July 2, 2023 as the building is to be demolished and replaced by a new complex including a hotel and a concert hall capable of seating 10,000 people starting in 2024 and planned to be completed in 2028. The festival was held from May 3 to July 2, 2023, with the Hello! Project acts performing from June 8 to June 11.

Hey guys! I mentioned this on Twitter and Discord, but realized I hadn't yet said anything here. I've started a new project, Tsunku Wiki. Right now I'm primarily building from the discography section on his official site. Clearly there's a lot of room for overlap with this wiki (the artists he lists by far the most releases for are Morning Musume, Berryz, and ℃-ute), but for now I'm skipping over most of the H!P stuff and working on the pages for the many many other artists he worked with much much less each. I know most of my contributions are pretty inane but this one wouldn't leave me alone. I realized I could plot the state of H!P and its members now - if not just to show that the member count isn't the bad part, it's the sudden changes plotted over only a short period of time.

From May of 2017 (Debut announcements of Ichioka, Dambara, Kawamura, Takase, and Kiyono) until April 2020 (after Kobushi Factory disbands and Funaki graduates). Each dot essentially represents the state of H!P at the *end* of the month it is on (example: the drop in three people on the 12/2019 mark and the drop of five people on the 03/2020 mark).

Though I hadn't done much with it in the last few years, working on ways to fill in the non-English wikis with information with the least repeated work necessary has been a project of mine for a long time. Some of you may remember my H!P song database DohBell, which I started about the same time I started editing here. It now hasn't seen a significant update in over 2 years. Largely because as far as I know the only significant visitors were myself and search engines, so the hassle of updating started feeling like more than it was worth. I just want to tell how sad I am over Chisato announcing her hiatus. She means the world to me and this came as a big shock to me.

I made sure to keep supporting her after C-ute disbanded by buying her merch. If she choses to quit the entertainment world I will be so depressed, I need her. She helped me through a harsh time in life with her music, the goods I can look at (and wear!), she made life a bit less bad.
