(S)pirit Color (2021)
Recording their first single (December 2019)
(S)pirit Color is a unit consisting of former Osaka Performance Doll members Inaba Atsuko and Furutani Ayano. They were two of the five main members (called F/Unit) of the theatre-based performance group. Inaba was later part of the Hello! Project group Taiyou to Ciscomoon, and Furutani was later part of Nippon Columbia's groups D.B.B. and Long path echo.
History
2014
Inaba Atsuko and Furutani Ayano were two of the five main members (called F/Unit) of the theatre based performance group Osaka Performance Doll. Inaba was later part of the Hello! Project group Taiyou to Ciscomoon, and Furutani was later part of Nippon Columbia's groups D.B.B. and Long path echo.
Pirit Color was announced when the duo opened a Twitter account for the unit in June.[1] Due to high sales for their first event, Piricala Live 2014, one additional performance was added (so there would be two sets on that date instead of one).
2019
In November, Pirit Color announced they were recording a CD Single that would be available for purchase at their live events on January 30, 2020.[2] At the same live events, Pirit Color announced a live corner. You could request songs in any genre you'd wish, but the song had to be from the Showa era. You could vote between December 1 and 8.
2020
In early January, it was announced that the CD release would contain five original tracks.[3] On January 25, the cover of the CD was released. The title was announced to be piricala 1. On January 27, it was announced you could download the track "Dakara ne... Waratta" from the upcoming CD from January 29 at Laugh & Peace Music.[4]
At the end of January, it was also announced that the unit's name would from now on be written as (s)pirit color. The additional S has various meanings, such as soul, super, secret, supreme, and expresses the desire to express various colors as a spirit! The reading however does not change.[5]
For their fall 2020 tour, the venue hold half the normal amount of people, so the event was live streamed at Streaming+ as well.[6] On September 4, they held their first live Instagram broadcast.[7]
2022
In September 21, (S)pirit Color's original songs were distributed on Laugh & Peace Music.[8]
2023
On June 17, they held an Instagram live on Inaba Atsuko's official Instagram account.
2024
In November and December, they celebrated their 10th anniversary with two live events and the release of the mini-album Piricala2.

Trivia
- Inaba was part of OPD from 1994 to 1996, Taiyo to Ciscomoon from 1998 to 2000, and Hello! Project from 1998 to 2009. OPD and Taiyo to Ciscomoon have had several reunions since they disbanded.
- Furutani was part of OPD from 1994 to 1996, B.D.D. from 1998 to 1998, and Long path echo from 1999 to 2005 when she began her solo activities.
- Furutani and Inaba first met in an elevator. There was an Osaka Performance Doll audition, and there was a lesson at NYC (Yoshimoto School). (Yoshimoto is the agency that started Osaka Performance Doll).[24]
- They perform songs from OPD and Taiyo to Ciscomoon, but also perform cover songs from the Showa Era. They have previously sung Kamome ga Tonda Hi (The Day the Seagull Flew Away) (February 2015), Ihoujin (Stranger) (September 2015), and Kaze wa Aki-iro (The Wind Is the Color of Autumn) (November 2016).[25]
- Kominato Miwa and Shinoda Miho was in the audience for the Piricala Live Tour 2018 in December, and got up on stage during the song Gatamekira to sing it live.[26] An original song by Pirit Color was also sung live at this event.[27]
